Smart Work@Ijburg

Introduction

For various reasons, many people leave in the morning at the same time to work. In business life people usually spend on average 30% of their time traveling. In previous experiences, such as experimenting with Smart Work Center in Almere, it is learned that people once they are on their way to the office in the car actually do not get more out of the car.

Reason to Be Selected

Amsterdam Smart City is therefore focusing on the creation of Smart Work Centers near the workers home. The first pilot IJburg is selected. Because of all the cars that morning in a traffic jam to get rid of IJburg occur daily traffic jams and making IJburg a very convenient location to get people out of their cars. ASC also makes it easy: a payment system will be developed, making it quick and easy to get to work in a smart work center. Also given the opportunity through Telepresence to use video conferencing at very high quality. IJburg will be faced with the possibility in the coming months to work smarter and be able to do that close to home!

Details

In the new district of IJburg, they created SmartWork@IJburg, which allows residents to work remotely in their residential areas through free Wi-Fi and local collaborative office space, eliminating the hassle of commuting to and from work.
Amsterdam Smart City has conducted an awareness campaign to encourage working people of IJburg more at home and therefore less to stand in traffic jams. Also, we are working hard to achieve a Smart Work Center in IJburg.
