Introduction

The open and communal media channel airs content produced by citizens of the Helsinki region. The programmes can be viewed online and on the go both with laptop and mobile device.

Stadi.TV is a new and open-minded way to bring together professional programmes and user-generated content. It's a mix of content produced by citizens, a team of professionals and partners.

Reason to Be Selected

Stadi.TV has its own production team producing several series and current affairs programs. All content is targeted for people living in the Helsinki Metropolitan area. Stadi.TV also does streaming from various sorts of events. The mobile city studio has been set up in a pickup, for example.

Helsinki-kanava shoots the meetings of the Helsinki city council, and airs them live in the web. Stadi.TV participates in this production. A special programme series called “Exploring decisions” dives into decision making: it gives background information about the decisions and explains the processes behind administrative jargon.

Highlights:

Stadi.TV's programs spring up from the city residents' interest and observations. The uniting theme is Helsinki. The goal is to find a productive balance between media content produced by professionals, semiprofessionals and ordinary people. Stadi.TV wants to give the citizens a chance to have their voice heard.

Details

Stadi.TV encourages and inspires different urban communities, event producers and the city to utilize the channel in their communication and marketing. If interested, the groups can take part in different kinds of workshops, for example. In relation to “Exploring decisions” programme series, Stadi.TV organizes workshops during which the communities produce and create discussion programmes of their own. The subjects of these programmes are related to decision making and draw from the communities' own interests.

Stadi.TV is run by Forum Virium Helsinki, m-cult and City of Helsinki. Forum Virium Helsinki acts as the executive producer.
