Introduction

Chongming Island in Shanghai is China's largest estuary alluvial island, the gateway of the Yangtze River, which gathers sand to form an island. It is the ecological card of "excellent global city" in Shanghai. The project is located in the South Branch of Yingdong village, Chenjia Town, Chongming District, covering an area of 263 mu. Planning and construction of life Yangtze River Museum, scientific research building, staff on duty supporting and outdoor various maintenance pools and ecological wetlands and other facilities. All kinds of new facilities will be connected with phase I to become a professional nature reserve for aquatic organisms with ecological environment, biological welfare, automatic operation, intelligent management and modern propaganda and education, so as to create a landmark of "world-class ecological island".

Reason to Be Selected

In the planning and design of the base of Chinese Sturgeon Nature Reserve, we take the culture of "Yangtze River" and both sides of the Strait as the source of design inspiration, take the Chinese philosophy of "harmony between man and nature" as the guiding ideology, take ecology, harmony and inheritance as the design concept, and take architectural aesthetics and architectural technology as the design means to draw a beautiful, harmonious, ecological and wise image for the base The blueprint of the project.

Highlights:

A harmonious ecosystem is the prerequisite for the survival and breeding of Chinese sturgeon and finless porpoise. The traditional Chinese philosophy of Tao following nature advocates the principle of harmony. Rushing to the Yangtze River, the pulse of Chinese civilization is leaping, the Chinese culture is inherited and the legend of the Yangtze River is continued. The design of the base bears the principle of inheritance.

Details

The overall planning and design of this project is a natural ecological park with the theme of Chinese sturgeon protection, which integrates the functions of science popularization, ecological experience, ecological research, rescue and cultivation. Clear planning division and non-interference streamline design are the necessary conditions for the efficient operation of the protection base. Effective use of base resources, intensive planning of building functions, the use of new technologies, new materials, intelligent, sustainable, green building design principles.
The overall planning and construction is for the Yangtze River Life stadium area, scientific research area, staff living supporting area and outdoor protection and domestication area. The Yangtze River Life Museum is divided into three areas: behavioral ecology research area, dolphin rescue and breeding area, and Chinese sturgeon breeding area. Among them, the behavioral ecology research area not only has the function of research and rescue, but also undertakes the function of external propaganda and education. The newly-built scientific research building and staff living facilities are integrated with the original functional buildings in the first phase to realize the integrated and intensive design of scientific research building and living facilities. The outdoor area organically integrates the functions of storage, ecology (experience) and landscape to form an ecological complex, conveying ecological knowledge, natural beauty and the mission of protecting the environment to people.
The internal flow line of the park enters through the entrance of phase I in the east of the base, and goes to the scientific research building, the living building, or the Yangtze River Life Museum; the external science and education exhibition flow line enters into the behavioral ecology research area of the Yangtze River Life Museum through the square in the north of the base, which will start three wonderful journeys, including walking around the wetland around the lake and savoring the story of the Yangtze River. The rescue and breeding areas for dolphins and Acipenser sinensis are only open to professional researchers. Around the functional areas of the three venues, circular lanes are set up to meet the needs of aquatic life transportation and fire protection.

Conclusions

We design the Chinese sturgeon conservation base as an ecological park. On the premise that 72% of the water surface meets the function, we give it more cultural connotation and landscape value. The source of the design comes from the inexhaustible theme of "Yangtze River". As the mother river of the Chinese nation, the Yangtze River has nurtured generations of Chinese people on both sides of the Strait, flowing through Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi The local cultural systems with different ethnic characteristics have been formed in Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghai. We summarize and refine the representative characteristics of the river basin. At the same time, combining with the design theme of "island", we outline seven landscape islands: Iceland, waterfall Island, flower island, mountain island, Lake Island, Tian island and Sand Island, vividly representing the diverse natural and cultural features of the Yangtze River Basin.Rich and diverse wetland habitats form a natural ecosystem with the ability of self-healing and self purification, which not only creates natural beauty, but also provides tourists with rich and colorful hydrophilic experience, and provides habitats for a variety of organisms including birds. The rolling Yangtze River flows from the mountains to the sea, from the ancient times to the future. It has cultivated the broad and profound Chinese culture, and achieved the wise Oriental philosophy system. The history of human development has proved time and again that "the unity of man and nature" is a wise choice for survival and reproduction.
